CR-B Education Foundation
The Coon Rapids-Bayard Education Foundation was created to provide supplemental funding to the Coon Rapids-Bayard School District. The funds raised by the Foundation are intended to enhance the quality of education for all students and secure a sound financial future for the CR-B District.
The Foundation’s main fundraising activities through the year go towards providing funds to the district in the way of teacher grants to enhance learning opportunities in the classroom. Each instructor is eligible for two grants per academic year. After an application is submitted, the application is reviewed by both the Superintendent and the Foundation Board. If approved by both parties, the district receives the funds from the Foundation and the teacher can proceed with the project with funds from the Foundation. In the past, the grant requests have been a couple hundred dollars or less each and have paid for things like art supplies, magazine subscriptions, field trip entry fees, STEM supplies, and PBIS funds.
Partnering with Endow Iowa, the Education Foundation created an endowment fund to benefit the CR-B School District. Created in 2014, the fund was created as a long term funding mechanism for CR-B academic programming. The minimum donation to the eligible for the CR-B Endowment Fund is $500 annually for a minimum of three years or a lump sum donation of $1,500. The Endowment Fund makes one payment to the school a year in the amount of $35,000. Individuals and businesses are still able to contribute to the Endowment Fund as it is not fully funded as of yet. The money paid out of the Endowment fund each spring is the interest earned on the principle over the past year so whatever is contributed is always earning interest and the principle is never spent, which creates a never ending stream of income for the school district.

Teacher Grants
